- Danube Welfare Centre (DWC), in partnership with Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA), has started offering training courses to workers in Dubai on 25th May, 2017
- More than 1000 workers have already registered for the training courses, and the initiative aims to reach 15000 workers
- The courses include personality development, presentation and communication skills, preparing for interviews, and computer literacy
- There will be three hour-long classes a week as part of the courses, which will be conducted outside of the regular working hours of the labourers
- The Danube Group is one of the largest building materials companies in the Middle East, headquartered at JAFZA
- The Danube Welfare Centre is a non-profit initiative, started in November 2012, to help with the social welfare of workers
- The new set of training courses are being offered in line with the opening of another Danube Welfare Centre in JAFZA
- The first DWC was opened in Al Karama, from which 5000 workers have benefitted so far
- Blue-collar workers undertake the course to improve their interpersonal skills and to qualify themselves for a promotion
