Abu Dhabi Named Second-Best City in the World – Ipsos Top Cities
- Abu Dhabi has ranked second on the list of the best cities in the world to live and work in, according to the Ipsos Top Cities 2017 index
- Abu Dhabi ranked highest among participants from the three younger generations – Generation X, Millennials and Generation Z, while 21% of the older generation listed Abu Dhabi as the top city to do business in
- The leading destinations were chosen from an overall list of sixty cities, with the list topped by New York
- Abu Dhabi has increased in ranking by two spots since the previous Ipsos city index from 2013, overtaking London and Paris
- Ipsos is a leading international market research firm, founded in 1975 in France, with a presence in 88 countries worldwide
- Abu Dhabi is the capital city of UAE, as well as the largest emirate of the country by area, accounting for 87% of the land and federation of UAE
- In the period January to May, 2017, the Emirate of Abu Dhabi recorded nearly 2 million hotel guest arrivals, a 4% growth compared to the same period in 2016
- Abu Dhabi is home to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which was ranked by travellers as the world’s second favourite landmark for the second year in a row by TripAdvisor
- The world’s top 10 cities in 2017 according to Ipsos Top Cities are New York, Abu Dhabi, London, Paris, Sydney, Zurich, Tokyo, Rome, Los Angeles and Amsterdam
