- An enthusiastic crowd of 15000 people gathered at Dubai Creek Park to take part in a 3-km walk in solidarity with millions of children who walk miles for education daily
- Compared to previous years, this year’s 9th edition of the Walk for Education saw an increase in participation among corporates and educational institutions in the UAE
- A number of food stalls, fun activities such as painting workshops for kids, live band and a lively DJ kept the crowd entertained inside the park during the course of the day
- The community engagement initiative was conducted in line with the Year of Zayed 2018
- Dubai Cares is a philanthropic organization working to provide children and young people in developing countries with access to quality education
- Dubai Cares is part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives
- So far, education programs reaching over 16 million beneficiaries in 45 developing countries have been launched by Dubai Cares
- Al Tayer Group and The Kindergarten Starters were among the first organisations to sign up for the 2018 walk, confirming the participation of over 3500 students and staff
- Walk for Education 2017 attracted around 14500 participants and 250 volunteers
